Cataphoresis and anaphoresis painting systems

The painting systems with the cataphoresis and anaphoresis system make it possible to apply the varnishes by electrodeposition, an innovative method with a low environmental impact.

Cataphoresis and anaphthesis are two substantially identical methods that differentiate each other by the polarity applied to the process. in the cataphoresis the piece will have the function of cathode while in the process of anaphthesis the piece will act as an anode, in the two processes different varnishes are used.

In the design and construction of our cataphoresis and anaphoresis plants we have obtained important results in the reduction of liquid and gaseous effluents deriving from the process, closed-loop ultrafiltration modules, carefully sized, they allow an optimal cleaning of the artefacts without having to draw on water sources additional.

or these reasons our customers, constantly attentive to a careful management of resources, has increasingly requested this innovative application system, and important installations have given increasingly significant results, especially where it is required an efficient "base" protective which will then be applied the finishing coat with a subsequent phase of liquid painting or powder painting.

This technology involves the immersion of the piece in the treatment tank always guaranteeing a perfect painting even if the same presents geometries difficult to reach with other application methods, moreover, the adhesion to the product takes place, as previously reported, by electrodeposition, therefore the applied protective layer achieves an extreme uniformity combined with a chemical resistance and a toughness that is difficult to compare to other types of application.

The cataphoresis process

An important and careful assessment of the quantities of energy necessary to achieve the correct development of all the process phases is a fundamental element of every electrodeposition system and, with this essential design logic, we reserve an extreme attention to the dimensioning of all the components destined to this task.

It is therefore important to underline that to achieve the optimal results of our cataphoresis and anaphoresis implants, we always pay particular attention to the following phases:

  • Electrophoresis process, is the movement of the micelles in the colloidal compound and the relative application of the correct electric field;
  • Process of electrolysis or the chemical disintegration of the compound which occurs under the influence of the correctly quantified direct current;
  • Electrocoagulation process, then the establishment of the aforementioned micelles on the artifact through the action of a determined continuous current;
  • Electro-osmosis process is the expulsion of the liquid solution, water and solvents from the dry residue deposited by the influence of the correctly quantified electric field, a process that must take place before the product is extracted from the tank.

Turnkey solution

Our cataphoresis and anaphoresis plants are supplied with a "turnkey" solution, which generally includes:

Example of plant with cataphoresis technology

To whom it is addressed

Our cataphoresis and anaphoresis plants are required and used in the automotive industry, auto accessories, mechanical parts, metal furniture, radiator industry and appliance manufacturers. More generally, our cataphoresis and anaphoresis painting systems are used for products in all metal products that have a certain degree of conductivity.

The advantages

One of the main advantages of the cataphoresis system consists in a very high yield of the dry paint product that can exceed 90%, moreover with the use of water-based paints, the emission concentrations in the atmosphere are lower than any other type of painting application in liquid, the use of said products almost completely cancels the risk of fire.
